Vitamins/Supplements

Carlson’s has a reputation for top-quality fat soluble vitamins. When I recommend taking fish oil, I always recommend getting 2000mg of EPA daily, which can be difficult to do with many fish oil products (some fish oil capsules would require 7-8 caps daily to get to 2000mg EPA!). Carlson’s EPA gems, although a little pricey, have 1000mg EPA per cap.

Braces/Orthopedic

If you have a sprained ankle, remember the lace-up style brace is better for protecting your ankle from re-injury and should be used when walking around. The stirrup style can be more comfortable early on for support, but doesn’t protect the ankle as well.

These are the insoles that I wear personally, although I am always trying to strengthen my feet muscles so I need them less!

Blood Pressure

The Omron automatic cuffs seem to be a good value and are easy to use, make sure you scroll down for the “XL” size if you have large arms. You should bring your cuff to your visits, so we can check its accuracy against my cuff.

If your upper arm is between 17”-20“ around, you should buy both the DrKea reader and separately buy the XL cuff.

Manual BP readings are usually the most accurate. If you are interested in buying a manual BP cuff and stethoscope, bring them to your visit so our staff can teach/confirm correct use. This is both an inexpensive and very accurate option!

Longevity Tools

All sleep trackers seem to do a good job at measuring how much time we’re actually sleeping. Some, like the Oura Ring that I wear, give a little more information about heart rate variability, body temperature and might be able to more accurately stage sleep. I use the Oura Ring because of that extra information, plus I don’t even notice I’m wearing it when sleeping. You DON’T need to spend this much to get a sleep tracker, this is just the one that I like.

I use the Abbott Precision Xtra to track glucose and ketones, which can be helpful when transitioning into or out of a very low carbohydrate or ketogenic diet. Talk to Dr. Zerafa before making changes to your diet.
